March Momentum: The reSpace® Movement is Growing

Author: Katrina Romatowski, CEO and Founder of reSpace

At reSpace®, we’re redefining what homeownership can look like—and March was a powerful step forward on that journey. From expanding our homeowner outreach to preparing our first property for launch, our team has been busy laying the groundwork for a future where co-homeownership is accessible, attainable, and community-driven.

Here’s a look at how we’re building momentum:

Growing Reach, Real Engagement
Our homeowner network is expanding, thanks to new lead capture tools, consistent educational content, and a robust outreach strategy. Weekly blog posts and insights on LinkedIn are sparking conversations, answering questions, and positioning reSpace as a thought leader in alternative homeownership solutions.

Meanwhile, our acquisition team is dialing in—literally. Our in-house reSpace Specialists are now making over 100 calls per day to property owners whose homes align with our mission. This personalized, high-touch approach is generating strong connections with sellers exploring innovative paths forward.

Spotlight on Ballard: All Eyes on The Grove
In Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood—home to our flagship property, The Grove—we’re launching a hyper-local marketing campaign designed to connect directly with the community.
This campaign includes:

-Direct mail postcards introducing reSpace
-Geofenced digital and social advertising
-Neighborhood signage to raise awareness

We’re also finalizing interactive tools to help buyers and neighbors explore what co-homeownership looks like in action:
-Digital home books
-Suite walkthroughs
-3D virtual tours

As soon as permitting is finalized, we’re ready to go live—and we couldn’t be more excited to bring this model to market.

Development Progress
We’ve completed all required corrections for permitting at The Grove and are now awaiting the city’s response. In anticipation of next steps, our team commissioned additional engineering assessments to ensure we can move forward without delay once approved.
This puts us in a strong position to begin project execution and continue advancing our pipeline.

Partnering with City Leaders
This month, we deepened our relationships with municipal leaders who share a commitment to expanding access to affordable and innovative housing. In Bellevue, we explored how co-homeownership can support the city’s broader goals around sustainability, livability, and inclusive growth.
We’re encouraged by the alignment and are actively identifying opportunities to collaborate on future housing solutions—from city-backed partnerships to pilot programs.
These conversations are laying the groundwork for long-term impact across the region.

Welcome to the Team
We’re proud to welcome two experienced professionals who bring deep knowledge and a shared commitment to building a more equitable housing future:

Kathy Bauerman
Kathy joins reSpace as a consultant focused on government and municipal engagement. She brings extensive experience in public-private partnerships and funding strategy, having served as VP of Operations for Port Blakely Companies during the development of Issaquah Highlands. Kathy’s strategic guidance is already helping position reSpace as a trusted civic partner.

Anthony Avery
Anthony is a planning and policy expert with a strong track record in affordable housing, transit-oriented development, and equity-focused urban planning. His previous roles with Sound Transit, the City of Aurora, and the City of Bellevue have prepared him to help reSpace navigate complex regulatory environments and expand our policy impact.
